Job Description

Elastic is seeking a technically savvy writer to support its engineering teams within its Platform, Security, and Observability products. As a writer at Elastic, the candidate will be embedded within engineering and will help shape the evolution of products and services. The company gives ownership of what you’re working on and empowers employees to comment on anything, regardless of their role.

What this role involves:

• Working side-by-side with Elastic engineers, product marketing, support, and fellow writers.
• Documenting new features and improving existing content.
• Helping users succeed with Elastic products and telling a consistent Elastic story.
• Producing how-to guides, user guides, tutorials, and other content for the documentation website and in-product help center.
• Using Elastic's Git-based software development process.
• Reviewing and editing documentation changes contributed by other Elastic employees and community members.
• Testing both the product and its documentation for accuracy and consistency.

Requirements:

• 2+ years in a SaaS, IT, or developer-focused environment.
• Technical knowledge and expertise.
• Curiosity, a willingness to wear a variety of hats, a desire to learn new things, and the drive to tackle sophisticated problems.
• Experience with a lightweight mark-up language such as Markdown, Asciidoc, or Wikitext.
• Comfortable using Git and GitHub.
