Software Engineer, Java and Data

Job Description

Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Commerce Platform - Billing Insights Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and operating core platform services that transition the platform to the next generation architecture. This role involves building high-quality, innovative software that complies with coding standards and technical design, while continuously improving the ability to provide products to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Improve knowledge of highly available and scalable distributed systems.
• Design, implement, and operate new features on current services and new services built from scratch.
• Articulate the "why" of proposed solutions and understand team priorities and customer impact.
• Troubleshoot and fix operational issues, improving troubleshooting procedures and tools.
• Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Develop flowcharts and documentation to identify solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable code.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience building highly scalable products.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Java/Spring Boot with clean code practices.
• Expert knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming.
• Experience contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems.
• Experience working with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in data modeling and database management (RDS, Aurora, ClickHouse, Redshift).
• Familiarity in Cloud Solutions, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, Testing & Automation.
• Self-drive and ownership of tasks.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
