Legal Director, ACLU of North Dakota, South Dakota, & Wyoming at ACLU - National Office

The ACLU of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming is seeking a Legal Director to lead and expand the ACLU legal program across the three states. This is a hybrid role based in Sioux Falls, SD or Fargo, ND, requiring in-office presence two days a week or eight days a month. The Legal Director will report to the Executive Director and will craft and execute legal strategies to advance the ACLU's mission.Responsibilities include:

• Leading litigation and non-litigation legal advocacy.
• Managing legal staff and cooperating attorneys.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with community leaders and organizations.
• Serving as a spokesperson for the Chapter.

Requirements include:

• Significant trial and appellate litigation experience.
• Proven ability to manage legal staff and high-performing teams.
• Admission to the South Dakota, North Dakota, or Wyoming Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Excellent organizational skills and strategic problem-solving abilities.
