Job Description

Sotheby's is seeking a Specialist, Handbags and Fashion to join their team in Hong Kong. This role involves business development for auctions and the Buy-Now Marketplace across major Asian locations. The Specialist will inspect and authenticate properties, collaborate with the Head of Sale and Marketing teams, and build relationships with auction bidders and buyers.

• Business-getting for Auctions and Buy-Now Marketplace
• Inspecting and authenticating properties
• Promoting Auctions and Marketplace initiatives
• Building relationships with clients
• Providing market analysis
• Advising on product mix
• Ensuring proper product photography
• Participating in pipeline meetings

• Experience in auction house, ecommerce or second-hand luxury shop
• Knowledge of retail and resale markets for luxury handbags and accessories
• Experience as an authenticator and valuer of luxury goods is a plus
• Interest in luxury brands and ecommerce businesses
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Client focus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
• Mandarin and Cantonese language skills are advantageous
