Sotheby's is seeking a Coordinator for its Wine division. This role involves assisting with order fulfillment, distributing wine orders, and providing client service in the retail store. The Coordinator may also support auction activities as needed. This is an in-person role based in New York, with a Monday-Friday schedule and possible overtime, especially during the fourth quarter.
Responsibilities include:
Working with Operations and Warehouse teams to ensure orders are picked, packed, and released for delivery.
Processing and confirming online orders.
Pulling and packing orders from the store.
Setting up the van roster and daily delivery schedules.
Liaising with shipping vendors for outbound client deliveries.
Ensuring constant communication with the salesperson for each order.
Obtaining proper signatures on delivery/pickup paperwork.
Managing payments for third-party shippers.
Assisting in the retail store, including greeting clients, answering phones, and processing orders.
Receiving wine from suppliers at the store.
Ensuring shipping supplies are stocked.
Driving the van for deliveries and pickups when the van driver is absent.
Ideal candidates will have:
Valid driver’s license
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Ability to load and unload wine cases up to 40 pounds
Enjoyment in selling wine and a desire to learn more about it
Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends
Trustworthiness, reliability, detail orientation, and discretion
