Sotheby's is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their InfraDev team. The ideal candidate will play a central role in shaping the future of Sotheby's infrastructure and developer platform services. This role involves working closely with other engineering teams to deliver high-quality and scalable solutions for building and delivering technology products.Sotheby's is looking for someone who is a technical driver, teacher, and hands-on contributor, helping to shape their architecture and technology stack. The candidate should have a passion for building practical, reusable, and resilient solutions for other engineers.Responsibilities:
Build, optimize, and maintain a platform that enables other engineers and product teams to work faster and more efficiently
Design elegant abstractions, useable and practical tools, and robust APIs
Work closely with engineers across our Product & Technology teams
Communicate persuasively with peers to inspire cooperation and collaboration
Eager to learn new technologies and open to learning from others
Create amazing intuitive experiences that remove pain points for our users
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in engineering building platforms, infrastructure, and deployment and infrastructure tooling
Experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to: Go, Node.js, Python, Scala, or Java
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience with build and deployment tooling (Bazel, Github Actions, Pants, Spinnaker)
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience with relational database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Exposure to microservices architecture and observability (Kubernetes, Docker, service meshes, distributed systems, tracing)
Exposure to event streaming platforms (such as Kafka and Kinesis)
