Head of Engineering, Partner Credit Services

Job Description

Tide is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the Partner Credit Services domain, which powers Tide’s Intermediated Credit product. This role involves shaping the future of Tide’s intermediated credit platform by providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and engineering strategy. The Head of Engineering will manage Engineering Managers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance Tide’s credit offerings and integrate with third-party providers.

Responsibilities:

• Defining and driving the architectural direction for Tide’s Intermediated Credit product.
• Leading the design and development of high-quality Intermediated Credit products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance Tide’s credit offerings.
• Integrating with third-party providers.
• Providing hands-on technical guidance and ensuring best practices in software engineering.
• Managing and mentoring engineers.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 5 years in fintech.
• Strong experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in the Python ecosystem, relational databases, and modern cloud-native development.
• Hands-on experience designing fault-tolerant, high-availability architectures.
• Proven ability to deliver 3rd party integrations.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into a clear technical roadmap.
