Job Description
PhonePe is seeking a Channel Sales Manager to drive the acceptance of its products and services through channel partners across urban and rural markets in India. This role involves managing relationships with channel partners, driving partner acquisition, sales, and servicing within an assigned geographical area. The Channel Sales Manager will play a key role in driving PhonePe's market share in the channel business, leading the team to achieve targets across multiple product lines, including devices, financial instruments, and revenue generation. The role requires close collaboration with channel partners and reports to the State Heads.
Responsibilities: - Expand the partner network and drive all products and services.
- Drive quality in execution through audits and review mechanisms.
- Conduct partner meetings to present products and manage escalations.
- Monitor competition and share insights with the leadership team.
- Drive partner acquisition and productivity to ensure market leadership.
- Ensure the correct placement of devices to maximize asset utilization.
- Manage collateral and devices to ensure no loss or leakage.
- Ensure adherence of channel partners to company guidelines.
- Recruit new channel partners and engage existing partners.
- Ensure partners are aware of new product launches and updates.
- Ensure brand visibility through channel partners.
- Participate in promotional events to cultivate customer relationships.
- Understand trackers and analyze data to drive business.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders among channel partners.
- Manage freelancers along with channel partners.
- Onboard and train the frontline sales team/channel partners.
- Monitor KPIs and coach team members.
- Work towards retention and engagement of the frontline sales team.
- Motivate the team with regular communication about schemes and incentives.
Requirements: - MBA from a Tier 2/3 campus with a good academic record.
- 3-5 years of experience in channel sales managing a sales team.
- Experience in Telecom, FMCG, and Retail (B2C experience) is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sales/customer service focus.
- Field sales experience with a proven track record of increasing sales and revenue.
- Experience with distributor and channel partner management is an advantage.
- Exposure to the startup environment is an advantage.
- Problem-solving abilities with a strong bias for impact.
- Strong ethics and discretion while dealing with customers.
- Drive for results and able to demonstrate success relative to targets.
- Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
