Job Description

Discord is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join its Client Platform & Performance team. This role will lead the technical vision for Discord's client experience across all platforms, with a focus on mobile performance. The Senior Staff Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering, Client Platform & Performance, and will play a critical role in shaping the technical foundation that powers Discord's user experience for millions of people worldwide.This role involves:

• Leading technical direction and strategy for Discord's client platforms.
• Architecting and developing foundational client-side libraries.
• Owning engineering quality for client performance.
• Mentoring the next generation of technical leaders at Discord.

Requirements include:

• 10+ years experience as a software engineer.
• Deep understanding of mobile performance and React Native.
• Strong technical depth with JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience leading technical excellence across teams.
