Job Description
Discord is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on UI/UX & Animations to join their team. This role involves leading the creation of intuitive user interfaces across Discord’s web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in React and React Native, a passion for design and animations, and the ability to build world-class user experiences. This role reports to one of our engineering leaders on our Core Product team.
What this role involves:
- Implementing highly polished UIs, translating design concepts into pixel-perfect, high-quality code.
- Writing clean, maintainable code in React and React Native, and driving best practices in performance and accessibility.
- Collaborating with Product, Design, and Marketing to define the team's vision and roadmap.
- Mentoring engineers and setting high code standards, guiding front-end architecture decisions.
What the candidate should have:
- 8+ years of front-end development experience building rich, user-centric applications.
- Expertise in React and React Native.
- Strong UI/UX sensibility and an eye for detail.
- Extensive knowledge of front-end performance optimizations and web/mobile accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
