Senior DBA (PostgreSQL)

Job Description

Delasport is seeking a Senior DBA (PostgreSQL) to join their R&D center in Kyiv. The Senior DBA will be responsible for managing database availability, security, and performance, ensuring data integrity and efficient access. The DBA team handles backups and user permissions while providing proactive support.

The role involves:

• Developing and maintaining database systems.
• Designing databases to meet end-user information requirements.
• Managing user permissions and data distribution.
• Utilizing high-speed transaction recovery and backup procedures.
• Reducing database downtime and fine-tuning parameters.
• Providing proactive and responsive support.
• Defining and documenting database policies and procedures.
• Conducting regular tests and evaluations.
• Monitoring database performance.

Requirements include:

• Experience in database administration, IT, or database architecture.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database standards and end-user applications.
• Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and SQL or NoSQL engines.
• Familiarity with GNU/Linux server environments.
• Skills in database design and documentation.
• Experience using DBA case tools.
• Background in replication and load balancing technologies.
• Basic familiarity with programming languages.
• Problem-solving skills.
• BS degree in computer science or related field.
