Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Ground Support Engineer to work on the Neutron Transport project. This role is based in Middle River, MD, and involves designing and developing transport tooling hardware for large Neutron shipments across the US East Coast. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including Ground System Engineers and Mechanical Systems, to ensure successful Neutron Transport Tooling designs and hardware for development, production, testing, flight, and recovery.
What this role involves: - Designing, building, testing, and activating hardware for handling and transporting large Neutron flight vehicle components.
- Supporting the design of tooling to streamline production, testing, integration, and launch of Neutron.
- Serving as a technical expert for flight vehicle transport hardware, primarily interfacing with marine transportation assets.
- Developing technical details and leading design reviews for Ground Support Equipment.
- Collaborating with Rocket Lab Engineering teams to ensure all systems support Neutron Production, Test & Launch.
- Supporting Ground System fabrication and testing remotely and onsite.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
- For Ground Support Engineer II: 2+ years of professional experience designing, building, operating, or maintaining complex mechanical ground support equipment.
- For Senior Ground Support Engineer: 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, operating, or maintaining complex mechanical ground support equipment.
