Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to join their Neutron Flight Software Team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves developing the next-generation Command & Data Handling system for the Neutron launcher, a critical component interfacing with various subsystems. The Flight Software Engineer II will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust software and tools, including core flight software libraries, code generators, and simulation and test frameworks. They will collaborate closely with flight software architects, HITL, and GNC engineers to develop a common simulation and test environment.
  • Developing and maintaining core flight software libraries.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience professionally developing modern C++ software.
  • Experience with networked software systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience professionally developing in a scripting language (such as Python).
  • Proficiency in Git and working with issue trackers.
