Job Description

Cabify is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Marketplace Information team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Software Engineering and a keen interest in growing in the field of Data Engineering. This role involves working closely with experienced data engineers and software developers to design and implement data solutions that drive the business forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines.
  • Utilize software engineering skills to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Python, Scala, or Go.
  • Support the management and optimization of cloud-based data infrastructure on platforms like GCP or AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and software engineers, to integrate data solutions and support machine learning initiatives.
  • Help manage and optimize data storage solutions, including relational, columnar, and NoSQL databases.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance data processing and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous learning opportunities to expand knowledge in data engineering and software development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software engineering, with a keen interest in data engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Go).
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Beam, Airflow).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
