Rocket Lab is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician - Neutron to work on the development, qualification, and flight article hardware of the Neutron Launch Vehicle. The technician will assemble and test components, contribute improvement ideas, and work with tools and equipment for building, launching, or testing Rocket Lab launch vehicles.

Role Involves:

  • Assembling and testing Neutron launch vehicle hardware.
  • Working with component designs and manufacturing methods.
  • Suggesting improvement ideas to Development and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Using tools and equipment to build, launch, or test components.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified in relevant industry.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong track record in producing and testing R&D components.
  • Hands-on technical experience problem-solving mechanical/electro-mechanical systems.
  • Precision mechanical assembly skills.
  • Experience operating mechanical, electrical, and automated test equipment.
  • Ability to work to exacting standards including cleanliness for oxygen service.
  • Understanding of standard industry ESD.
  • Good eyesight for inspecting assemblies.
  • Ability to manufacture components to a high workmanship standard.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - desirable).
  • Ability to work in a team environment (desirable).
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop manufacturing instructions and drawings (desirable).
  • High work ethic and initiative (desirable).
  • Ability to work long hours if required (desirable).
  • Computer literacy (desirable).
