Software Engineer I – Operations Software

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Operations Software team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves creating, maintaining, deploying, and supporting software components for launch vehicle and spacecraft operations. The Software Engineer will contribute to systems that acquire, ingest, and store telemetry from various sources, including mission operations, integrated systems testing, and operational simulations. They will also work on console operator interfaces, voice communication services, and launch/satellite operations management systems.Role involves:

• Acquisition, ingestion, and storage of telemetry
• Working with Mission Operations, Integrated Systems Testing, and Operational Simulations
• Developing Console Operator Human Machine Interfaces
• Developing Console Operator Voice Communications Services
• Developing Operator Facilities Information Displays
• Developing Launch and satellite operations management systems

Requirements:

• Tertiary Diploma, Certificate or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years experience within a related field
• Experience with Git
• Experience with one of: Redmine, Jira, or other issue tracker
• C# or Golang Development
• Desktop Application Development
• Ethernet Network Protocols
