Job Description
Galaxy is seeking a Director, Protocol Architect to join their Blockchain Engineering Team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure and systems related to Galaxy's blockchain participation and custody offerings. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in infrastructure, monitoring, system automation, and incident response. They will also research emerging trends in the web3/blockchain space and identify new product opportunities.Role involves:
- Designing, building, and maintaining blockchain infrastructure.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams.

- Debugging complex distributed blockchains and protocols.
- Implementing monitoring and observability tools.
Requirements:
- Prior software engineering or application development experience.
- Ability to script in a high-level scripting language.
- Experience working with blockchain infrastructure or strong knowledge of the blockchain domain.
- Familiarity with compute-infrastructure systems, tooling, and debugging strategies.
- Troubleshooting expertise of complex application flows.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and command line tooling.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Conceptual knowledge of security best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
