Galaxy is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to help design, build, and support nationwide and global trading networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low-latency trading networks and will be responsible for network and security management, emergency response, and the design and deployment of new technology.Galaxy is a digital asset and blockchain leader helping institutions, startups, and individuals access and navigate the crypto economy.What this role involves:
  • Collaborating with the network engineering team on new and existing networking projects.
  • Working with infrastructure and trading support teams on various connectivity projects and troubleshooting.
  • Maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN circuits.
  • Performing network performance and scalability testing.
  • Creating support documentation and reports.
  • Maintaining and developing SNMP/Network monitoring tools.
  • Working with carriers on circuit outages and new installs.
  • Working with data center remote hands at various co-locations.
  • On-call and weekend work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field experience.
  • Experience with Arista/Cisco, routing/switching, OSPF/BGP, and low latency network designs.
  • In-depth knowledge of multicast routing process and troubleshooting.
  • WAN/Carrier technologies experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in design, implementation, maintenance, & troubleshooting of low-latency trading networks.
  • 3+ years of experience integrating and maintaining cloud platform networks (AWS, GPC, Azure, etc.).
