Job Description
Galaxy is seeking a Safety & Compliance Manager to be based in Afton, TX. The Safety & Compliance Manager will design and implement workplace safety programs, maintain knowledge of regulations, collaborate on the Emergency Action Plan, and serve as the primary contact for safety-related matters. They will also monitor environmental conditions, compile safety performance reports, revise safety protocols, and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Designing and implementing comprehensive workplace safety programs.
- Maintaining knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
- Collaborating with management to update the Emergency Action Plan.
- Serving as the primary contact for project site injury and incident notification.
- Monitoring environmental conditions.
- Compiling and providing regular safety performance reports.
- Writing and revising safety protocols.
- Performing regular safety inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 6 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years management level safety professional experience.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with 29 CFR highly desired.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, keen evaluation skills, and solutions oriented.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
