The ACLU of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming is seeking a Legal Director to lead and expand the ACLU legal program. This hybrid role requires in-office presence two days a week. The Legal Director will report to the Executive Director.
The role involves:
- Crafting and executing legal strategies to advance ACLU of SD/ND/WY mission.
- Managing legal staff and cooperating attorneys.
- Providing strategic leadership on litigation and non-litigation legal advocacy.
- Engaging in direct litigation efforts and manage cases.
- Developing relationships with community leaders and organizations.
- Representing the Chapter in media appearances and public forums.
Requirements:
- Significant trial and appellate litigation experience.
- Proven ability to manage legal staff.
- Admission to the South Dakota, North Dakota, or Wyoming Bar.
- Excellent organizational skills and a strategic approach to problem-solving.
- High ethical standards and genuine interest in developing authentic relationships.
