Job Description
Tekion is seeking a Manager of Data Engineering to lead a team of data engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data systems and pipelines. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth collection, transformation, and storage of data, making it easily accessible for analytics and decision-making across the organization. The Manager will collaborate closely with analysts, product managers, engineering managers, business leaders, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure that the data infrastructure meets business needs and is scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Role involves:
- Managing and mentoring a team of data engineers.
- Designing and implementing data pipelines and architectures.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs.
- Managing project roadmaps and timelines.
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipeline design.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data engineering tools.
- Expertise in data modeling.
- Experience with designing scalable, high-performance data systems and understanding cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Data Bricks, Click house, Snowflake, or Azure.
