Rocket Lab is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their Electron team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves working closely with test and design engineers to maintain high product quality and safety standards for Rocket Lab launch vehicles. The technician will receive components and complete their assembly and testing before passing them on to the Integration team.

Role Involves:
  • Precision mechanical assembly
  • Operating mechanical, electrical, and automated test equipment
  • Inspecting assemblies to high workmanship standards
  • Manufacturing components, including riveting and precision assembly

Requirements:
  • Trade qualification in a relevant industry or 4+ years of experience
  • Comfort working to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service
  • Working understanding of standard industry ESD
  • Good eyesight for inspecting assemblies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (nice to have)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or autonomously (nice to have)
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings (nice to have)
  • High work ethic and initiative (nice to have)
  • Ability to work long hours if required (nice to have)
  • Computer literacy (nice to have)
