Rocket Lab is seeking a Production Test Technician to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of aerospace mechanical & electrical components through rigorous testing and qualification. This involves operating and maintaining testing machinery and performing complex testing and integration tasks.

Rocket Lab’s Electron team is responsible for building, testing, and launching our Electron rocket. The company is a global leader in launch and space systems, building rockets and satellites that enable some of the most ambitious and vital space missions globally.

What the role involves:

  • Operating vibration tables and vacuum chambers
  • Work with Development Engineers on space flight hardware, reaction wheels & spacecraft
  • Support Neutron R&D testing of flight and development hardware
  • Cryogenic & gaseous support test equipment
  • Precision inspection of mechanical components

Requirements:

  • Must be able to demonstrate 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with the operation of vibe/shaker table
  • Experience with compiling concise and accurate test reports
  • Precision mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience
  • Hands on, comfortable working with basic tools
  • Comfortable working to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service
  • Have a good level of eyesight and be able to inspect assemblies to a high workmanship standard

Rocket Lab offers:

  • A full-time position (40 hours), 4-day work week, Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm - 02:00am
