Rocket Lab is seeking a Team Lead for Mechanical Design to join their Electron Program in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves leading a team of 10+ engineers responsible for the design and development of the Electron rocket. The Team Lead will be involved in mechanical design, peer reviews, signing off designs, prioritizing work, project management, and people management.

Role Involves:

  • Mechanical design

  • Involvement in all aspects of the Electron rocket design including components, pneumatic and fluid systems, propulsion, payload structures, and launch day support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, development & test, analysis, configuration control, or project engineering
  • Excellent grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience reviewing and approving technical content
  • People management experience of teams of 5+
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
