Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

Zenoti is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join their Product Engineering team. This role focuses on managing and optimizing database instances within AWS and Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in cloud database architecture, performance tuning, security, backups, and troubleshooting.Zenoti is a cloud-based software solution for the beauty and wellness industry, serving over 30,000 salons, spas, medspas, and fitness studios across 50 countries.What this role involves:

• Managing PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, DynamoDB instances in production systems.
• Configuring instances in the cloud and monitoring systems for performance, availability, and security.
• Analyzing and resolving issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
• Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
• Assisting developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Providing 24x7 on-call support for critical production systems.
• Supporting scheduled maintenance and release deployment activities.
• Sharing domain and technical expertise, providing mentorship and cross-training.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of experience in database administration, with 2-3 years in AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Expertise in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and DynamoDB instances.
• Exposure to SQL Server versions (2019+), Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instance is an advantage.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in administering, configuring, and maintaining database instances in production environments.
• Knowledge of security policies, data protection, encryption, and access controls.
• Experience in designing backup and recovery strategies for databases.
• Experience in managing patch installations with minimal disruption.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services for managing and automating cloud operations.
• Scripting skills in Automation for managing and automating tasks.
• Familiarity with compliance, security standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.), and data privacy regulations.
• Experience in database migration and hybrid cloud environments.
