Rocket Lab is seeking a CNC Operator to join their Machine Shop in Auckland. The CNC Operator will be responsible for manufacturing parts for rockets and satellites, encompassing all aspects of machine setting, including vice and chuck change over, setting work coordinate systems, tool setting, loading and measurements. The role involves monitoring cutting conditions, making in-process adjustments, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining CNC equipment as necessary for production.

Rocket Lab's Machine Shop plays a critical role in the advanced machinery across global manufacturing sites, ensuring the delivery of satellites, satellite components, and rockets. The CNC Operator will collaborate with a team to bring engineering designs to life using state-of-the-art CNC machinery.

Role Involves:

  • Manufacturing parts for rockets and satellites.
  • All aspects of machine setting including vice and chuck change over.
  • Setting work coordinate systems, tool setting, loading and measurements.
  • Monitoring cutting conditions & make in process adjustments.
  • Inspecting finished parts.
  • Maintenance of CNC equipment as necessary for production.

Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • High level of workmanship
  • Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controls (Nice to have)
  • CAD Design (Nice to have)
  • Excellent attention to detail and record keeping (Nice to have)
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against deadlines (Nice to have)
  • Adheres to standardized processes (Nice to have)
