Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a CNC Programmer to join their Machine Shop in Auckland. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for producing quality machined parts, maximizing production and machine utilization. They will develop smart machining methods and provide manufacturing advice to engineers.

The role involves CAM programming, toolpath simulation, interpreting engineering drawings, machine setting, and in-process part inspection.

What this role involves:

  • CAM programming, toolpath simulation and post processing
  • Interpreting the engineering drawing and delivering components that are within specification
  • Machine setting including custom fixturing, vice or chuck change over, setting work coordinate systems, loading and measuring tools
  • Proving safety and accuracy of programs through simulation, dry runs and checking code prior to running
  • In process part inspection and measurements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • CAM based programming

Nice to have:

  • High level of workmanship
  • Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controls
  • Manual machining
  • Excellent attention to detail and record keeping
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against deadlines
  • Adheres to standardized processes
