Senior AI Engineer

Job Description

Zip is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their Data Analytics & Data Science team. This role involves building and deploying AI/ML solutions, developing advanced AI agent architectures, and enhancing the Zip customer experience. The Senior AI Engineer will help develop the machine learning maturity roadmap, assess existing technologies, and provide mentoring across machine learning best practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and deploying AI/ML solutions
• Developing advanced AI agent architectures
• Critically assessing existing machine learning technologies
• Providing mentoring and coaching across machine learning best practices
• Discovering and validating problems to facilitate quicker data science decisions

Requirements:

• Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions using industry-leading platforms and tools such as OpenAI, Claude, Anthropic, Langchain etc.
• Proven expertise in production-grade data science workflows, particularly with Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS.
• Experience developing with advanced AI agent architectures, including multi-agent systems, RAG, and tooling such as MCPs.
• Deep understanding of AI\MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and end-to-end model lifecycle management in production environments.
• Programming proficiency in Python and JavaScript, along with scripting experience (e.g. Shell).
• Skilled in DevOps practices, with hands-on experience using Git, Terraform, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
• An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
