Job Description
Zip is seeking a Lead Database Administrator to lead initiatives within a SQL server database environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to own mission-critical work and strategic redesign work on legacy database schemas. This role offers hybrid, flexible working with two team connect days in the office per week.This role involves:
  • Maintaining databases and platform integrations related to customer transactions.
  • Leading technical projects in the database space.
  • Working within a high-performing team with a culture of development and mentorship.
  • Modernisation projects.
Requirements for this role include:
  • Expertise in SQL Server Database Administration.
  • Exposure to PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS).
  • Experience with a scripting or programming language (Spark/Scala, Java, or Python).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of business users.
  • Experience working within a risk environment, critically assessing user access.
  • Ability to work fluidly with a desire to take on new challenges.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
