Job Description
Zip is seeking a Lead Database Administrator to lead initiatives within a SQL server database environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to own mission-critical work and strategic redesign work on legacy database schemas. This role offers hybrid, flexible working with two team connect days in the office per week.This role involves:
- Maintaining databases and platform integrations related to customer transactions.
- Leading technical projects in the database space.
- Working within a high-performing team with a culture of development and mentorship.
- Modernisation projects.
Requirements for this role include:
- Expertise in SQL Server Database Administration.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS).
- Experience with a scripting or programming language (Spark/Scala, Java, or Python).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of business users.
- Experience working within a risk environment, critically assessing user access.
- Ability to work fluidly with a desire to take on new challenges.
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
- An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
