Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Senior Editor for DealBook to play a key role in shaping the DealBook newsletter and expanding its franchise. The Senior Editor will collaborate with Andrew Ross Sorkin, reporters, and other editors to assign, edit, and produce the daily newsletter, focusing on growing its audience and engagement.Role involves:
- Managing a team of reporters and editors.
- Editing and shaping copy for the newsletter.
- Writing, curating, and aggregating financial and business news.
- Coordinating and prioritizing coverage.
- Ensuring high editorial standards and deadline discipline.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of newsroom experience in business or financial journalism.
- Direct experience with newsletters or other audience-focused digital forms.
- Demonstrated experience as a fast, clean writer with knowledge of business, economics, and finance.
- Experience as an editor with strong headline and display-writing skills.
- Proven ability to write in a clear, concise conversational style.
- Highly organized and effective under pressure.
- Understanding of audience engagement and growth.
