Job Description
SmartAsset is seeking an Account Manager to manage a portfolio of Financial Advisor accounts and foster long-term relationships. The Account Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth, enhancing client satisfaction, and optimizing account performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Role involves:
  • Serving as a trusted partner and primary contact for Financial Advisors.
  • Strategically engaging and retaining clients by understanding their needs.
  • Counseling Advisors on best practices to optimize SmartAsset campaigns.
  • Leading high-priority client escalation calls, including negotiations.
  • Maximizing revenue by selling additional products and services.
  • Managing and driving revenue in a growing book of business.
  • Utilizing Tableau and other sales tools to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Representing the AM business in strategic meetings and providing feedback to the leadership team.
  • Liaising with Account Executive and Advisor Support teams.
  • Working with sales operations, marketing, and product teams to share advisor insights.
  • Driving adoption of new tools and features across the team.
  • Maintaining accurate Salesforce records for Advisor accounts.
  • Assisting with Outreach Automation Tool (OAT) setup and maintenance.
  • Investigating billing discrepancies and intermediate finance conversations.
  • Overseeing pre-activation processes, including compliance approvals and onboarding.
  • Actioning feedback from the Concierge team to improve engagement.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in account management or business development, with a proven ability to manage a high volume of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong phone presence to effectively engage with clients.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining lasting client relationships through multiple communication channels (email, phone, virtual meetings).
  • Proven consultative sales expertise, adept at identifying client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, with experience in team leadership or management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Interest in the financial advisory industry with a strong willingness to learn.
