Rocket Lab is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to contribute to the development and maintenance of flight software for the Electron launch vehicle and associated ground-based communication systems. In this role, the engineer will support vehicle systems during launch and on orbit, operating avionics, collecting and distributing telemetry and commands, and hosting guidance, navigation, and control software.
Role involves:
- Creation, maintenance and support of software components, functions or services on the Electron launch vehicle
- Creation, maintenance and support of associated ground-based communication systems
Requirements:
- An engineering degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent qualification
- 3+ years of demonstrated applicable experience in embedded software development
- Software development within a Linux environment, specifically embedded applications
- Proficiency in C and C++ languages and development environments
- Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
- Document management & software systems engineering experience
