Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior GNC Software Engineer to contribute to the development of GNC software systems for Electron and Neutron rockets. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating flight software, and 6DOF simulators. They will perform unit tests, software integration tests, process data, automate report generation, and conduct Monte-Carlo simulations.Role involves:
- Developing and validating 6DOF simulators
- Designing, implementing, and verifying flight software
- Performing unit and software integration tests
- Processing data and automating report generation
- Creating new software products and reviewing requirements
- Conducting Monte-Carlo simulations and pre/post-flight analyses
- Modeling and predicting vehicle parameters
- Managing configuration control
- Reviewing software merge requests
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Participating in launch activities and HITL operations
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in relevant field
- 5+ years of Python or MATLAB experience
- C/C++ experience, including embedded or high-reliability development
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Git version control (nice to have)
- Simulink skills (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum (nice to have)
- Opportunity to shape software systems for cutting-edge rockets.
