RF Team Lead - Ground Segment

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a RF Team Lead - Ground Segment to lead a small team of engineers and technicians in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves the design, development, verification, maintenance, and operational support of ground-based RF communications and navigation systems for Rocket Lab's launch vehicles and satellites. The RF Team Lead will act as the product owner and subject matter expert for Rocket Lab ground station solutions, driving the roadmap for ground station capabilities and ensuring developmental, verification, and implementation goals are met. Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an annual operating plan.
• Manage, mentor, and motivate team members.
• Act as the product owner and subject matter expert for ground station solutions.
• Oversee the development, installation, and commissioning of new ground stations.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance and sparing strategies are in place.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electronics/communications/RF or similar).
• 5+ years of relevant technical and team lead experience.
• Proven ability to apply fundamental RF knowledge.
• Experience operating RF test equipment.
• Knowledge of IP networking.
