Staff Software Engineer - Data Platform

Job Description

Addepar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Data Platform team. This role is based in Pune, India, and will be at the forefront of building the modern data platform at Addepar. The ideal candidate will bring technical vision to build the core infrastructure and toolings for the platform.

The Staff Software Engineer will work in partnership with engineering partners and other platform users to identify requirements and priorities, and map out solutions for challenging technology and workflow problems. They will also act as a technical lead for a high-performing team of engineers in India, helping them design, develop, and deploy data Lakehouse solutions.

What this role involves:

• Identifying requirements and priorities for the data platform.
• Mapping out solutions for challenging technology and workflow problems.
• Establishing integrations with various data sources to make Addepar’s Data Lakehouse the central financial data hub.
• Acting as a technical lead for a team of engineers in India.
• Designing, developing, and deploying data Lakehouse solutions.
• Laying a solid foundation of the software architecture for the team in system design and code development

Requirements:

• Minimum 9+ years of relevant work experience in data platform development and management.
• Strong foundation in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and platform toolings for internal teams.
• Comfortable working in a cloud context, with automated infrastructure and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with Java or Python.
• Practical knowledge of agile practices.
• Experience with AWS will be highly preferred.
