Senior Network Engineer at Rocket Lab USA

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior IT Network Engineer to join their team in Mt Wellington, Auckland. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of Rocket Lab's network infrastructure, supporting the development and delivery of world-class rocket launch capabilities.He/She will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and operation of Rocket Lab's networks and firewalls. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in network infrastructure, security protocols, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Enable Rocket Lab Engineers via network deployment and management
• Provide subject matter expertise for IT network infrastructure support
• Lead upgrades and maintenance with continuous improvement
• Lead/Assist project scoping, planning, and deployment for network infrastructure
• Support Infrastructure Standards through the implementation of standards

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience (8+ years)
• 8+ years of experience in a network-focused technology role
• Expert knowledge of Juniper or Cisco network switching
• Fortinet firewall setup, configuration, and management
• Knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, routing, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls, etc.

• Exposure to AWS and/or O365 & Azure enterprise environments
• Experience with Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Windows
• Experience with Configuration Management Automation and/or Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of HA\DR\BC, Certificate Management (PKI), DNS, or DHCP
• Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, etc.)
