Job Description
Capco Poland is seeking a Technical Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of data solutions. The role is based in Poland and operates on a hybrid model, requiring one day per month in the Krakow office. The successful candidate will join as a Lead Big Data Expert, working as a Consultant with a major global bank on diverse projects, including on-prem, migration, and cloud (GCP) initiatives, alongside top-tier engineers. This role involves working within an international team based in Krakow.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and participating in planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and status meetings.
- Contributing to system architecture, design, and development standards.
- Driving implementation of scalable data pipelines using tools like BigQuery, DataProc, Spark, Python, and Composer.
- Ensuring code quality through reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
- Collaborating cross-functionally to promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Monitoring and optimizing performance, availability, and accuracy of data systems.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience as a Big/Data Engineer and 1-2 years as a Tech Lead.
- Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
- Proficiency in technologies like Python, Scala, Java, Spark, Hadoop, SQL, noSQL, and GCP (or other cloud platforms).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
