Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Space Systems Structural Analyst to join their Structural & Mechanical Systems team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role focuses on the analysis, design validation, and improvement of spacecraft structures, Photon platforms, and related payloads. The Senior Structural Analyst will lead analysis projects, collaborate with other teams, and mentor junior engineers. The company designs, manufactures, and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. They provide mission services, satellite components, and other solutions that support the space economy.
Responsibilities: - Leading the analysis of primary and secondary structures.
- Building and running finite element models.
- Collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers.
- Contributing to test plans and post-processing data.
- Defining suitable sensors and monitoring in-flight environments.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements: - A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar field
- 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise with one or more industry standard structural FEA packages: NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus, Optistruct/Hyperworks
- Experience with vibration and shock testing.
- Experience with sensor selection and data post-processing/interpretation
- Strong understanding of composites engineering fundamentals
