Job Description
Axon is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting Operations to lead a team focused on the revenue close and ownership of revenue systems. This role involves partnering with non-finance executives and managers to implement processes that satisfy customer expectations and accelerate the close. The Senior Manager will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting and have 6 direct reports.
Role involves:
- Leading, coaching, and developing the US team responsible for accurate revenue recognition.
- Overseeing Product, SaaS, Software, and professional service-related accounting.
- Partnering with Sales, Commercial Controllership, Commercial Operations, and FP&A.
- Managing and communicating throughout the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
- Setting and achieving key metrics for the team.
- Drafting, implementing, and executing policies and system changes.
- Conducting training for stakeholders and professionals.
- Partnering with IT to develop system enhancement requirements and testing.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience leading revenue accounting teams.
- Experience managing close auditors.
- Experience with revenue close using a revenue engine.
- Global public company experience subject to SOX regulation.
- Strong attention to detail and customer focus.
- History of implementing and enhancing operational technologies.
- Proven ability to improve the financial close process.
- Track record of recruiting and developing strong talent.
