Job Description
Axon is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting Operations to oversee a team focused on the revenue close and ownership of revenue systems. This role requires experience with Revenue Recognition, process and system improvement, and strong team leadership skills. The Senior Manager will partner with non-finance executives and managers within Operations, IT, and Business Development to implement processes that satisfy customer expectations and accelerate the close.

The role involves:
  • Leading, coaching, and developing the US team responsible for accurate revenue recognition.
  • Overseeing Product, SaaS, Software, and professional service-related accounting.
  • Partnering with Sales, Commercial Controllership, Commercial Operations, and FP&A.
  • Managing and communicating throughout the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
  • Setting and achieving key metrics for the team.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the Company’s lead-to-cash cycle.
  • Drafting, implementing, and executing policies, system changes, and procedures.
  • Conducting training for stakeholders and professionals involved in quoting and order processing.
  • Partnering with the information technology department to develop robust requirements for system enhancements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems, and productivity.

The ideal candidate should bring:
  • 7+ years of experience leading revenue accounting teams.
  • Experience with revenue close using a revenue engine.
  • Global public company experience subject to SOX regulation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high quality.
  • History of successfully implementing and enhancing new operational technologies.
  • Proven ability to improve the financial close process.
  • A track record of recruiting and developing strong talent.
