Job Description
Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join their team in Kassel, Germany. This role is crucial for driving a smooth transition from small-scale to higher-volume manufacturing, ensuring efficiency and quality. The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will report to Dr. Gerd Fehlauer, Sen. Director of Operations.
Responsibilities: - Drive completeness of product assembly instructions with the R&D team.
- Structure the production flow to achieve high product flexibility.
- Implement lean and WIP reduction through optimized setup in layout, flow, and planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain equipment and tooling for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the production team, R&D, and QA to address manufacturing challenges and quality issues.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and align with Axon manufacturing standards.
- Share knowledge and promote Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma concepts.
Requirements: - Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, black belt, lean certification, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with structural improvements of manufacturing flow in a medium-volume electrical units assembly setup.
- Proven record of implementing production and intralogistics processes.
- Experience with production setup and performance assessment matrices.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies.
