Job Description
Axon is seeking a DSP Engineer II to contribute to the advancement of drone detection and localization technology through RF spectrum analysis. The engineer will design and implement signal processing algorithms to enhance security and safety. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative challenges, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and gain experience in cutting-edge systems.

What this role involves:
  • RF Spectrum Analysis: Perform advanced analysis and feature extraction from RF signals using Software Defined Radio (SDR) frameworks.
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and optimize real-time signal-processing algorithms in C++ and CUDA.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with hardware, software, and data fusion teams to integrate DSP components.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Act as a technical resource and mentor for junior team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in DSP, SDR, and wireless communication.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create detailed technical documentation for developed algorithms and processes.
  • Tool Development and Maintenance: Develop utilities in Python and C++ for testing, data analysis, and algorithm validation.

Requirements:
  • Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Robust expertise in digital signal processing, including modulation methods, frequency analysis, and digital filters.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience in developing real-time systems and prototyping signal processing algorithms.
  • Solid knowledge of wireless communication systems such as LTE PHY, IEEE802.11 (Wi-Fi), and IEEE802.15.4.
  • Exemplary problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts successfully.
