Job Description
Axon is seeking a Security Operations Center Manager to lead their security operations team. The manager will focus on increasing automation and adopting AI to secure mission-critical software and services. This role requires a high-energy security professional to expand and mature Axon's security operations. The position reports to the Director of Security Operations and Engineering and has 7-8 direct reports.
What this role involves:
- Leading and managing the SOC team.
- Overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of SOC tools and technologies.
- Developing and implementing strategies for building new detection rules, use cases, and automation workflows.
- Coordinating and leading incident response efforts.
- Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders.
- Setting and guiding the team towards evolving capabilities.
- Measuring and reporting the maturity and success of the SOC.
What candidate should bring:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security operations or incident response role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management position.
- Engineering background building solutions to solve security problems.
- Substantial experience with building and implementing detection rules, use cases, and automation workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, or similar.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies.
- Experience working for a SaaS company within AWS or Azure.
