Axon is seeking a Principal Product Designer, AI Features, to lead the design of its AI-driven solutions. This role involves shaping how public safety professionals interact with generative AI and setting the vision for Axon’s products. The Principal Product Designer will own the end-to-end user experience for Axon’s Gen AI products, driving strategy and influencing senior leadership.Axon's Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) team addresses cloud and local storage challenges, managing vast amounts of digital files from first responders globally. The team focuses on improving workflows for file ingestion, playback, management, access control, searching, and sharing, enhancing efficiency within the justice system.
What this role involves: - Setting and driving a long-term UX vision for AI-driven solutions.
- Leading the entire design process for AI-enhanced workflows.
- Shaping product strategy in collaboration with senior leaders.
- Engaging with customers through field research and usability testing.
- Promoting transparency and trust in AI through human-centered interfaces.
- Advancing ethical AI development by championing responsible practices.
- Evolving design systems at scale to support AI-driven products.

Requirements: - 12+ years of product design experience, including leadership in AI, ML, or enterprise systems.
- Proven expertise in owning end-to-end user experiences for multiple products.
- Demonstrated ability to set and execute a UX vision aligned with organizational strategy.
- Deep experience working directly with customers to gather feedback.
- Strong knowledge of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and advanced front-end technologies.
- Exceptional ability to articulate design concepts and advocate for user needs.
- Proven success in mentoring designers.
