Job Description
Axon is seeking a Principal Product Designer, AI Features, to lead the design of its AI-driven solutions. This role involves shaping how public safety professionals interact with generative AI and setting the vision for Axon’s products. The designer will align advanced AI capabilities with human-centered design principles to help officers work smarter and investigators uncover truth faster.

Role involves:
  • Defining and executing a UX vision for AI-driven solutions.
  • Leading the design process for AI-enhanced workflows.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to influence strategic decisions.
  • Conducting field research to understand user needs.
  • Designing intuitive AI interfaces that build user confidence.
  • Championing responsible AI practices.
  • Guiding the evolution of Axon’s design systems.
  • Experimenting with new design tools and methodologies.
  • Facilitating cross-functional workshops and design critiques.
  • Mentoring designers and contributing to recruiting efforts.
  • Prototyping advanced AI interactions.

Requirements:
  • 12+ years of product design experience, including leadership in AI/ML or enterprise systems.
  • Expertise in owning end-to-end user experiences for multiple products.
  • Ability to set and execute a UX vision aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Experience working directly with customers to gather feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and advanced front-end technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of UX standards and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills.
  • Proven success in mentoring designers.
