Job Description
Axon is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist II to join their AI team. This role focuses on AI applications in Cloud, Devices, and Robotics, with a strong emphasis on Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) and Computer Vision technologies. The Senior Machine Learning Scientist II will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and solutions.
What This Role Involves:
- Owning key technical areas across the CVML product portfolio.
- Providing technical leadership to junior scientists.
- Researching and developing techniques in MLLMs, GenAI, and Computer Vision.
- Designing and implementing efficient and scalable MLLM models.
- Optimizing algorithms for performance and energy efficiency.
- Evaluating the performance of MLLM models.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest research trends.
- Contributing to patent disclosures and academic publications.
- Coaching and mentoring junior scientists.
Requirements:
- PhD with 8+ years of experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven track record of research excellence in machine learning and computer vision.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Experience with ROS or robotic operational system.
- Experience in developing computer vision algorithms for resource-constrained devices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Well-developed communication skills.
