Job Description

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Agency Operations group, focusing on Axon Records, a cloud-based records management system for law enforcement. This role involves designing and developing scalable, secure, high-performance software to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement agencies. The Senior Engineer II will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and designers, reporting to the Director of Engineering. Axon is a company with mission to Protect Life.Role involves:

• Designing and developing scalable, secure, high-performance software
• Leading technical projects from concept to launch
• Collaborating across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship for engineers
• Partnering with Engineering Director on strategic technical vision
• Leading engineering architecture design reviews
• Defining and managing roadmaps for the technical backlog
• Continuously evaluating and improving engineering processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems
• Full-stack development experience in languages such as Go, Java, C#, Scala, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL data stores
• Experience with realtime streaming event log or messaging technologies, such as Kafka or ActiveMQ
