HPC Infrastructure Support Engineer at XTX Markets

XTX Markets, an algorithmic trading firm, is seeking an HPC Infrastructure Support Engineer to support the physical layer of its HPC Cluster in Kajaani, Finland. The company leverages modern computational techniques to analyze large data sets across markets.

The HPC Cluster consists of thousands of CPU and GPU optimized servers, petabytes of storage, and a high throughput network. This role is crucial for maintaining and expanding this infrastructure.

The role holder will be based in Kajaani for this full time, permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Deployment of new infrastructure (servers, switches, storage, cabling).
• Hardware installations, upgrades, and repairs.
• Coordination with IT vendors for maintenance and support.
• Inventory management and logistics.
• Support execution of large projects (e.g. >1,000 server deployments).
• Server integration work (e.g. fitting components).
• Participating in platform design

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in datacentres.
• Good understanding of high-speed networking.
• Comfortable working inside servers.
• Familiarity with international shipping.
• Proficiency in English and Finnish.
• Working knowledge of networking, hardware, and server software.
• Experience using hardware monitoring and management tools.
