Director, Science at Aetion

Aetion, a global leader in science-driven technology, is seeking a Director of Science to provide strategic leadership to a team of RWD scientists, overseeing a diverse client portfolio with a focus on oncology research. The Director will design tailored solutions to meet the Real-World Evidence (RWE) needs of life sciences and payer organizations. This role involves scientific and strategic leadership, advising on research programs and analytic services for both existing and prospective clients. The Director will also foster the professional growth of a talented scientific team in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead scientific and analytic services for portfolio clients, aligning with their needs.
• Provide expert guidance on study designs, analysis approaches, and research methodology, emphasizing oncology.
• Oversee operational objectives, strategy development, and budget management.
• Mentor and manage a growing scientific team, advancing their professional development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to define strategic business goals and drive decision-making.
• Contribute to external thought leadership.

Qualifications:

• Master's + 6 years experience or Doctoral degree + 4 years experience in relevant field.
• Expertise in epidemiologic and biostatistical principles, with a focus on pharmacoepidemiology and HEOR.
• Experience in leading teams, including mentoring and development.
• Track record of substantive publications and presentations.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of RWE data and epidemiological methods in oncology research.
• Willingness to work 1-2 days per week in the Barcelona office.
