Sr Corporate Counsel - Privacy & Commercial

Altera Digital Health is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to provide expert legal counsel on privacy and commercial matters. This role involves serving as a key legal resource and collaborating across business units.Altera delivers health IT solutions that support caregivers around the world. • Providing expert legal counsel on federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as SaaS, licensing, and vendor contracts.
• Serving as a legal advisor to business units on legal risks and opportunities.
• Managing and responding to data security incidents.
• Monitoring and analyzing new privacy laws and regulations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on privacy and commercial legal issues.
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of form agreements and legal templates.
• Supporting mergers and acquisitions with privacy and commercial due diligence.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to and in good standing with the bar of at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience in privacy law (HIPAA) and commercial transactions within the healthcare IT industry.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in the technology or healthcare sectors.
• Strong understanding of U.S. privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience working with healthcare IT clients and/or vendors.
• Prior in-house legal experience at a technology or healthcare company.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
